Arisant has an immediate opening for a Senior Support Engineer.

Position Summary
  • The role of the Senior Support Engineer requires a strong System Administration background along with experience using Oracle Technology to provide exceptional remote-based support for complex client environments.
  • Solid knowledge of systems using Oracle technology including WebLogic, APEX, OEM, Oracle Fusion Middleware, Oracle VM, and associated UNIX/Linux Administration as a member of our national customer support team.
  • Responsibility for researching, troubleshooting issues and supporting architectural & performance related improvements for multiple Oracle technology platforms.
  • Requires strong system administration skills with the expertise and skills to debug, correctly diagnose & resolve serious issues for complex, integrated platforms in a timely manner.
  • Provide expertise and support for many environments configured for high availability, or high-volume mission critical applications. 
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
  • Perform server-side operations and troubleshooting tasks that support business-critical and development activities
  • Maintain all system backups and assist to restore any lost/damaged environment.
  • Solve complex customer issues using methodical troubleshooting based on expert knowledge of WebLogic, APEX, OEM, Fusion Middleware, Oracle VM and associated UNIX/Lunux Administration
  • Work closely with customers on a daily basis to understand their needs, support business change and deliver a consistently high-quality customer experience
  • Provide remote-based production operational support & guidance for multiple clients using Oracle Technology products.
  • Support client configuration, sharing implementation and best practice advice.
  • Manage one or more key assigned accounts as a single point of contact and adviser to our clients.
  • Act as a pro-active contributor to a 24x7x365 running support organization, that occasionally will require working flexible hours, including evenings, weekends and holidays and monitoring email regularly outside standard business hours.
  • Collaborate with team members in a team environment to extend field experience to different client situations.
  • Contribute to the development and management of knowledge-sharing methodologies, diagnostic tools, and creative processes, to improve the client experience.
  • Excellent interpersonal, presentation and English written and verbalcommunication skills.
  • Superb trouble-shooting skills and tenacity in problem solving.
  • Passionate focus on customer support and the ability to build long term, successful working relationships with Clients.
  • Back-end IT expertise to install, configure, and maintain Linux Operating Systems in a variety of environments
  • Deep knowledge of Fusion Middleware, WebLogic,  APEX, OEM, OVM, UNIX, & related products. Oracle Middleware experience – installation, administration, management.
  • Strong Unix/Linux System Administrator skills specifically RedHat Linux and/or Oracle Enterprise Linux preferred.
  • Ability to monitor, troubleshoot, upgrade, migrate enterprise – level environments from platform to platform (Linux/Solaris/Windows),
  • Ability to support disaster management and user support for multiple environments.
  • Good knowledge of Oracle development tools and deployment methodologies.
  • Attention to detail and the ability to learn quickly.
  • Extreme focus on Client satisfaction and client centric mentality.
  • Ability to work calmly and professionally in high pressure situations.
  • The ability to work remotely from a home-based office in a virtual environment when required.
  • Ability to work at all levels within an organization with excellent communication skills both verbal and written, and the ability to comprehensively document repeatable procedures.
  • Experience in configuring and maintaining Storage systems (HP, Dell, EMC, etc.)
  • Ability to provision virtual environments using VMware and Oracle VM
  • Must be able to work independently and troubleshoot issues to find resolution – strong problem-solving skills
Desired Qualifications
  • The best candidates will have extensive knowledge of WebLogic, Fusion Middleware and UNIX/Linux with a working knowledge of Oracle Database Administration
  • A consulting background, while not mandatory, would be useful
  • Experience supporting a major Oracle ERP like eBusiness Suite, or Fusion Middleware Components, OBIEE & Application Integration Architecture (AIA), while not mandatory, the strongest candidates will have some of these.
  • Experience supporting Oracle Engineered Systems, while not mandatory, the strongest candidates will have this.
  • Exposure to Oracle RAC and ASM environments, while not mandatory, would be useful
  • Experience with Oracle Cloud computing (AWS, Google, Azure, etc. also helpful) and providing support, while not mandatory, would be useful
  • 7+ years relevant Oracle Technology experience
  • 3+ years direct support of diversified implementations of multiple Oracle Technology products in a corporate environment.
  • Solid understanding of architectural design, deployment, and troubleshooting of WebLogic,    APEX, OEM, Fusion Middleware & associated UNIX/Linux Administration
  • Demonstrated experience upgrading, patching and tuning Production Databases
  • Expertise with current and past versions of Oracle technologies and ability to articulate the differences between releases and potential benefits to clients.
  • Demonstrable history of conceptualizing, architecting/designing, implementing and supporting complex new and already implemented Oracle Technology products-based solutions.
